[11] Jason Whitman Towle spent his life in Fryeburg, Maine except for four years teaching in Iowa. He attended the Fryeburg Academy where he was a good Latin and Greek scholar and a remarkable mathematician. He taught school thirty years, ten of which were in the "Old Stone School House" now the Fryeburg Woman's Club which houses the Fryeburg Public Library.

Mr. Jason Whitman Towle, or Whit as he is known to his many friends,
was born in Fryeburg in 1834. He was one of the company "The Boys and Girls of '34'" who celebrated their 70th birthdays together in August, 1904 with the famous Septuagenarian Party which was conducted by the late Alonzo F. Lewis.
His death certificate is wrong because it list his wife as his mother.
