"Tradition, based on much evidence from other sources, states that
Ancestors George Rogers, with his wife Isabella, whose maiden name was
Probably McCobb, and with his entire family, came to America from Londonderry,
Ireland, in 1720, or 1721. He probably emigrated with the Crombie and Cochrane
families, and located with these pioneers at Londonderry, N.H. In 1737 George
Rogers removed to Georgetown, Me., with his wife and most of his children,
though some of his sons had sought employment elsewhere when he went to
Londonderry, N.H. It is probable that the entire family gathered together at
Georgetown, Me., George Rogers and his wife and entire family were people of a
sturdy and honorable type, and faithful members of the Presbyterian Church.
Their strong characteristics have been handed down a long line of
descendants."
