Martha Eno was the daughter of John born 10 May 1681, who was son of James who settled at Windsor in 1646. Martha like most women of her time was unable to sign her name.
+ I need to research Martha's father John because I got the above information from a book and if I read it correctly it would make Martha's father 4 years old when she was born.

"Edward Small, our famous American Ancestor, probably came from Dartmouth,England, or from some other point in Devonshire, England, where the family has long been one of high character and position. He was evidently a Cavalier of the truest worth. He is said to have come to America under the patronage of his illustrious kinsman, Sir Fernando Gorges, about 1632. He and Champernowne, with some others, found Piscataqua, N.H., which was afterwards divided into the Maine towns, Kittery, Eliot, S. Berwick, and Berwick. Hither they drew some of the best pioneer ancestors of New England. Edward Small was a man of untiring energy. We find him at Falmouth, Me., in 1640, and he seems to have staid there for some years; he was a Magistrate there. He visited the Isles of Shoales in 1653; having sold his land to Antipas Maverick. He gave sturdy help to John Small, the founder of Eastham, Mass., who is said to have been his brother. It is a great pity that one of the historians of the Small Family has quite widely circulated the story that Edward Small probably "tired of the American wilderness" and returned to England. No Small of his sturdy type ever
retraced his steps in that way. The branches of the shaggy forest were always beckoning hands to him. The hints of history, though slight here and there, suggest that Edward Small went on a voyage of exploration along the coast of Maine and that he was lost in a terrible storm. But he no doubt died with a brave smile which no tempest could obliterate, "I am passing on; but the dauntless spirit of my Family line will conquer all of these shores Francis Small, son of this Ancestor Edward, is said to have given the name to Cape Small Point on the Maine coast. It may be that this name was in memory of the place where his father's vessel was lost, and that he conquered these lands to the Eastward, as he felt that his sire would wish him to do."
