[382] He is said to have died "at a average age." He is said to have removed from Truro, Mass., to Great Sebascodegan, Me., in 1750 , or 1755. He may have inherited lands there which had been owned by his ancestor Francis Small, who live on that Island for some time. The ear marks on the cattle of Taylor Small were recorded in the Harpswell, Me., records, Feb 14, 1761. He was a large landowner, a very industrious man, with all the sturdy characteristics of his ancestors. Taylor Smalley was married at Truro, Mass., "before Thomas Paine, Justice of the peace," in 1742 to Thankful Ridley born Truro, Mass., Nov 25, 1726; died at Great Sebascodegan Island, Harpswell, Me., June 12, 1796, in her 70th year. She was the daughter of Thomas Ridley and Mary ___[Strout] and a women of truly sterling qualities.
